Building set of the American multirole fighter aircraft F‑16 Fighting Falcon with Ukrainian Air Force insignia. The assembled model features tilting control surfaces and an opening cockpit canopy for a pilot figure. Under the wings, there are additional fuel tanks, Sidewinder missiles, AMRAAM, and Storm Shadow. The model can stand on its own landing gear or on the included stand with a description. The building set is produced under the official license of Lockheed Martin.

In 1967, a team of designers known as the “Fighter Mafia” was tasked with designing a lighter, more maneuverable, and cheaper aircraft than the F‑104. The development applied the theory of “energy and maneuverability” by Thomas Christie.

Immediately after the first tests, it was clear that an extraordinary aircraft had been created, maintaining air superiority even after more than 50 years. The F‑16 was designed for operations under any conditions, day or night, and its construction withstands up to 9G overload even with full tanks.

Approximately 2,500 hours of work are required to produce one aircraft, using up to 45,000 meters of electrical and optical cables. The F‑16 is equipped with an advanced system for jamming enemy weapons.

In 2024, the Ukrainian Air Force received the first ten F‑16 fighters from allies as a means of defense against Russian aggression. In total, more than 4,500 units have been produced, and production continues at least until 2025. The price of one aircraft, depending on the equipment, is around 20,000,000 €.
