Model of the German medium tank Panther V Ausf. G, which the Polish Home Army acquired during the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944. The model allows you to build a detailed model with an interesting history and many functional elements.

The model has opening hatches for the driver, commander, and engine cover. A novelty is the floating turret mount, which can be lifted to view the detailed interior. Functional tracks allow easy movement of the model on a non-slip surface. The 2-in-1 version includes parts for Polish and German insignias, so you can choose which version to build.

The package also includes figures: a German tank commander and Polish mechanic Ján Uniewski, a member of the armored platoon „Wacek“.

Historical background

The tank was captured on August 2, 1944, by members of the Zośka battalion in the streets of Warsaw. After being damaged by an anti-tank weapon PIAT and capturing the crew, it was quickly repaired by Polish resistance fighters. The tank was named „PUDEL“ in honor of the fallen officer Tadeusz Tyczyński, but the crew affectionately called it „Magda“. It fought until August 11, 1944, when the crew destroyed it to prevent it from falling back into enemy hands.

,Captured tanks were quickly put into operation thanks to excellent mechanics. The spontaneously formed insurgent crew of the Panzer, hastily retrained by captured Germans, needed to test the firing. It came at just the right moment. The Germans had set up a machine gun nest in the high tower of St. James's Church, which had the potential to thwart all our attempts to advance. The first shot missed the target but caught the attention of perhaps all German units. The second shot hit the German position with the precision of an experienced shooter.
