The new range of Barr & Stroud \Series 4\ sports binoculars is a blend of excellent optical quality, modern mechanical design, and modern style, which has brought an amazing range of binoculars that Barr & Stroud are rightly proud of.

Paradoxically, this latest model from Barr and Stroud is the model that most resembles the most famous Barr & Stroud model from the past. This is largely due to the modern \Open bridge\ design. 'Open Bridge' has a number of advantages over more traditional designs. The most visible is the ease of handling, which this ergonomic design allows for a perfect grip. This allows for easy and comfortable use in challenging conditions and especially for use with gloves. A less obvious advantage, but one that will please many users, is the weight. This makes Series 4 particularly suitable for those who are weight-restricted in their equipment. They are waterproof to a depth of 1.5 m for three minutes.
