» In the 1960s, France was looking for a suitable jet aircraft for advanced military pilot training. The United Kingdom and Germany were looking for the same solution. By chance, the leaders of the countries responsible for development met during an air show in France.
» Eventually, as usual, the United Kingdom went its own way, and thus the lightweight trainer Hawk was created.
» On August 21, 1974, the first prototype T.Mk 1 took off, assembled in the factories of Hawker Siddeley.
» The design of the Hawk jet aircraft resembled machines of the same category, but in one parameter it absolutely surpassed all competition.
» Hawker managed to build an aircraft with long service life and, above all, the lowest flight hour costs in the world. 
» It was a huge hit. Many countries were waiting for such a machine. After officially entering operational service in the Royal Air Force in 1976, the manufacturer received orders from countries such as Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Finland, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the USA, and others.
» In addition to training jet pilots, the Finnish Air Force, for example, uses Hawk as a light attack aircraft due to its high payload capacity.
» The aerobatic team RED ARROWS has been using Hawk T1 aircraft since 1979. In 2005, the aircraft received the bright red paint we know today.
» A total of more than 900 pieces were produced in 10 different versions.

Aerobatic team RED ARROWS:
» The RA team was officially established in 1965, but aerobatic teams supported by the RAF have been operating since the 1920s.
» In the year after its establishment, the team flew more than 65 aerobatic sets in several European countries.
» The team had bases in many parts of England and has been based at its own airbase in Waddington since 2022.
» Several scandals have been associated with the RED ARROWS team. The biggest occurred in 2021 when The Times magazine published an article about a toxic atmosphere, harassment, and drunkenness among employees.
» Despite all the difficulties, RED ARROWS is an elite aerobatic team and is considered a national treasure in the United Kingdom.
» RW consists of 9 RAF pilots who serve in the team for a limited period of 3 years.
» All activities are divided into two seasons. Winter is reserved for training and practice. In summer, demonstrations are held at air shows.
