Building set of the supersonic fighter aircraft F/A-18C Hornet in the colors of the 14th Swiss Air Squadron. The model has adjustable control surfaces, removable landing gear legs, foldable wing tips, and a specially adapted figure for sitting in the cockpit. The assembled model can stand on its own landing gear or on a stand with an included description. The building set is made under the official license of Boeing. Original sets have a hologram on the side of the package.

» The aircraft was developed by McDonnell Douglas in the 1970s to replace the retired F-4 Phantom aircraft in the US Marine Corps.
» The requirement for the new Marine Corps aircraft was clear: performance + survivability and cost.
» McDonnell, whose history dates back to 1920, created an extremely reliable fighter with perfect leading-edge wing shaping.
» The first flight took place on November 18, 1978.
» Compared to its predecessors, such as the F-4 Phantom II, A-7 Corsair II, and other aircraft of that era, the Hornet had modern shapes that are still used today.
» The F-18 fighter is made of 21% titanium alloy, 31% aluminum alloy, and 19% carbon composite.
» Designers used large parts as much as possible, reducing the number of parts from 14,100 to 8,100.
» The C version is equipped with newer avionics for night missions.
» The Swiss army operates 33 Hornets.
