Historical context:
Regelbau 667 was purely a defensive object, not used for permanent accommodation.
The most famous bunker is located on Omaha Beach in the Easy Red sector – it was the first bunker captured by the Allies during the Normandy landing (D-Day).
The object had a storage for 144 pieces of ammunition for the main weapon.

From the memoirs of Lieutenant Ernest V. Helms, June 9, 1944:
„From the rocky slopes of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer in the Easy Red area came heavy fire that terrorized the 2nd Armored Division. It was practically impossible to reach the bunker. Shortly after eleven o'clock, soldiers from the 16th Regiment of the 29th US Division managed to surround the bunker. The final blow to this ordeal was delivered by Sergeant Hass from the 467th Anti-Aircraft Battalion, who disabled the bunker gun with a precise shot from his half-track.“
