Interesting facts:
The MiG-28 fighter aircraft appeared for the first and last time in the famous scene of the blockbuster movie Top Gun during an aerial dogfight with the American F-14 fighter piloted by Tom Cruise.
The aircraft designated as MiG-28 thoroughly confused not only movie fans but also some experts. Discussions about the origin of the machine continue to this day, but the truth is that the MiG-28 was invented by the filmmakers to create a fictional enemy of unknown origin. 
The screenwriters originally considered an aggressor from North Korea, but the plot eventually took place in the Indian Ocean area, where North Koreans are almost nonexistent, and its origin was never revealed in the film.
In reality, the MiG-28 is a modified American Northrop F-5 Tiger fighter.
Thanks to the success of the film, the MiG-28 became so popular that it even received the NATO code name FANTASY.
The emblem of a red five-pointed star in a yellow circle was used by the USAF to designate training targets during air defense exercises against aggressors from communist countries.
