Colorful fabric with a story
Our Hawaiian shirt is a tribute to the period of the 1930s and 40s when bold and colorful shirt patterns first appeared in Hawaii. These patterns captured the atmosphere of relaxation or surfing on the island's beautiful beaches. The shirts became even more popular after World War II among soldiers returning to the American mainland after serving in the Pacific.
Cassino pattern
The patterns on this shirt pay homage to one of the toughest battles involving Poles during World War II – the Battle of Monte Cassino. At first glance, the pattern is dominated by the symbolic red poppy, which became synonymous with this event thanks to a famous military song. Upon closer inspection, however, Cassino reveals numerous references to this historic battle.
The visible trumpeter represents Emil Czech (the trumpeter from the 2nd Polish Corps of General Władysław Anders), playing the Marian Hejnal. Behind him is a Polish soldier attacking the enemy with a bayonet.
